Ben and I had the great opportunity to attend the Pueblo Stake Wilderness Youth Conference. We were called to serve as parents for 12 kids. We had an amazing time. It will be a memory that we will cherish forever. The youth of the church are so amazing, they have a great strength inside of them that will make them a great generation!

It all started with a night hike. We left at 10:00 pm and did not arrive in camp until after midnight. The hike consisted of walking in the dark with no flashlights and no trail. Just a creek to follow. Then through some beaver ponds (which meant a lot of wet and cold kids) to a very steep climb up to the camp. Once we arrived we still needed to set up our tents so we could finally drift to sleep around 2:00am only to be awakened by 6:00 am. What a night! Well when we woke the kids we had to inform them that they would only be receiving an orange for breakfast and lunch. Wow, were they mad. But as the day progressed it was amazing how we were all humbled, and found the courage to set aside the natural man and allow the Lord to nourish and strengthen us. The rest of the weekend progressed with an amazing spirit (and lots of food). These kids were able to set aside their carnal nature and act like children of our heavenly father. They were able to regain a testimony of our Father in heaven and make a commitment to follow the path of righteousness.
It was an awesome weekend and we will forever be changed for the better.

What an incredible camping trip. I have always loved working with the youth. It's so amazing to see changes in them, even small ones. I especially love the testimony strengthening experience, that is really neat!!!! How many were there total? How old were your "kids"?
