Camping

This weekend we went on our first camping trip of the year and in Colorado. We went to a place called Green Meadows Park in Colorado City. Since we left "Lucy" our camp trailer in Utah we needed alternative accommodations. I saw this tent for the first time in Cabellas in Utah and instantly fell in love. We got it straight from the owner of the tent company and he gave us a deal. We built a cot for the back so we didn't have to squish between the wheel wells. We used a sheet of plywood and buckets for support. Then we threw an air mattress on top. It was perhaps on of the best nights sleep while camping we have ever had. We are excited to use this configuration frequently in the future. We went on to San Isabel in the southern rockies on Saturday. What beautiful country. We hope to spend more time there. It was Maggie's first time camping. We think she liked it.

Vogel Canyon

A couple of weeks ago we ventured into the unknown plainescape to the south to find what many were calling canyons. Given the landscape of the south east part of the state we doubted that there could be anything beyond slight rolling hills and prairie grass. Sure enough about 20 minutes out you drop off the face of the earth and find yourself in a small sandstone canyon. It was a lot of fun. I am trying some new things with this movie maker. I tried to splice the audio clip and it went south on me. Oh well. I got tired of this one so it is what it is.
